Settlement Secured for Client After Hospital’s Misreading of MRI Leads to Preventable Brain Injury
Stephen Raynes, Joe Traub, Noah Goodman and Dominic Mussoline tried a medical malpractice matter for 2 1/2 weeks for a client who suffered a brain injury because a hospital misinterpreted a head MRI showing early signs of infection. The hospital mistakenly determined the MRI showed nothing of immediate concern, and the client went home. As a consequence, the client’s brain infection, which could have been easily treated with antibiotics at the time of the scan, grew immensely, turned into an abscess and caused significant brain damage. The settlement will provide our client with the funds necessary to provide him with financial security and pay for 24/7 care and supervision for the rest of his life.
