DAVE PALMER MEMORIAL FOUNDATION 30TH ANNIVERSARY

In June 1992, Dave Palmer, Tim Lawn’s college baseball teammate and best man at his wedding, died suddenly from a cardiac arrhythmia. He was 29 years old, and left a 2-year-old son, and a wife pregnant with their daughter. Tim and a group of college friends decided to organize a golf outing to raise money to help Dave’s family. Tim then thought “what happens to other kids who have a parent die young, who may not have that kind of network”. So, he and this same group of friends created the Dave Palmer Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)iii public charity, whose mission is to help children who have lost a parent overcome some financial hurdles. To date the Foundation has distributed over $500,000 to help children throughout the Delaware Valley with tuition, medical expenses, or even just presents under the tree at Christmas time. This year, what started as a “one and done” to help Dave’s family, celebrates its 30th Anniversary with its Annual Golf Outing on Friday, June 17.
