After his friend passed away suddenly at the age of 29, Tim Lawn created the Dave Palmer Memorial Foundation. Approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt public charity, the Foundation’s mission is to help children overcome financial hardships after the sudden passing of a parent. After a successful year of fundraising, this month the Foundation’s Board of Directors, which Tim still chairs, distributed $25,000 to help a handful of local families. This year’s distributions raise the Foundation’s total to just shy of $400,000 since its creation in 1992.
