A man who burned himself while cooking has been awarded $3 million for undergoing unnecessary skin grafts.
A Philadelphia jury on June 4 found against a plastic surgeon and his company, and awarded plaintiff Wismond Brissett $3 million in pain and suffering. The jury found Dr. David C. Watts had failed to meet the standard of care, and that the skin grafts he performed on Brissett caused the plaintiff unnecessary pain and scarring.
“We obviously thought the award was terrific for this man who was needlessly scarred pretty extensively on his chest and arms,” said Raynes McCarty attorney Timothy R. Lawn, who represented Brissett. Read More
