AMBER RACINE POSTHUMOUSLY HONORED WITH TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

Our partner and friend, Amber Racine, was posthumously honored at the Philadelphia Bar Association Annual Meeting in December 2021 with the Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Award.
The O’Connor Award, which honors outstanding women in the legal profession, recognized the late Amber Racine, a past chair of the Association’s Board of Governors and past president of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, who died in November 2020 at the age of 38. The award presentation included a video montage of Racine’s
colleagues and friends describing how she has inspired them in their life and work.
“Amber was a star in every sense of the word; she was brilliant, she was bright, she was bold,” said Regina Foley, Racine’s partner, and colleague at Raynes & Lawn, who accepted the award along with senior trial counsel, Bernard W. Smalley. “Amber, keep shining your light on all of us. Keep inspiring us to be servant leaders, to do the
work together. Keep inspiring us to believe in the impossible and keep showing us the way.”
Racine was also honored in February 2022 with the Albert S. Dandridge, III Diversity Award presented by the Business Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. The Award honors an individual who has demonstrated a strong commitment and made a substantial contribution in the Philadelphia area to diversity, equal participation, and inclusion in the legal profession. The award provided a donation which her family contributed to The Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia Inc., Amber Racine Scholarship Fund.
